Certified Health and Wellness Coach, NBC-HWC
With over 25 years of advising, coaching , mentoring and working with people in transition, I come to the coaching profession prepared to help clients focus on problem solving and identifying barriers to getting the outcomes they desire. As a coach, my practice is client focused and client driven.
I am a professor at Appalachian State University specializing in Human Development Theory and Leadership. This role has allowed me to mentor and coach college students. Additionally, I have worked with older clients facing career, family and life transitions. I spent 10 years working in the weight loss field and have developed a unique approach to health that encourages intuitive and healthful eating.
As a coach, I work to empower my clients to embrace change and set goals to manage change. Change can be career, health, family, financial, movement, and /or relational. I am certified by the National Board Certification-Health and Wellness Coaches. NBC-HWC is the premier national certification for coaches.
I have lived in the high country for 27 years, spent 10 years as a volunteer EMT and volunteer with Disaster Relief agencies. Hiking, kayaking, reading, and family and friends occupy my free time.
