I have been practicing therapy for four years and am passionate about facilitating a safe environment for my clients as they engage in their unique mental health journeys. While I consider myself to be a lifelong learner and I always seek opportunities for growth, my education and life and work experience have equipped me with the skills and perspective necessary to enable those with whom I work to confidently approach a range of struggles, including anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I find the opportunity to participate in my clients’ recoveries and self-exploration to be incredibly rewarding and something for which I am thankful.
My clinical approach utilizes a combination of strengths-based, client-centered work through the fundamental principles of cognitive behavioral therapy, additionally incorporating techniques from solutions focused therapy and mindfulness practices. This approach allows for the creation of a safe environment that facilitates trust and open communication while also confronting those problems my clients encounter head on, enabling growth and the creation of a meaningful relationship.
In addition to my experience working in the mental health field, I have worked in the high country with food-insecure populations, children’s ministry, and teaching academic coursework to undergraduate first year students. These opportunities have allowed me to work in meaningful ways while allowing for my own personal growth in cultivating connections with my community.
Many of my life experiences have been guided by my faith in Christ, specifically, his message of loving thy neighbor. I am happy to facilitate therapy through a faith-based lens if you so choose.
When we begin therapy, our initial session will consist of an assessment to facilitate my gaining of an understanding of the challenges that you are experiencing and formulating a treatment plan designed with your goals. As sessions progress after the initial assessment, we will work towards meeting your goals, facilitating your personal growth, and helping you to overcome obstacles that you are experiencing.
